Roy Fisher and family members work feverishly at times to keep up with business. They sold brown eggs, potatoes, onions, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, and other mid summer crops. The produce was beautiful. They expect to bring more of the same this week.

And, come rain or shine, they are prepared!

There was a new vendor last week: LOBO'S SALSA of 120 E. Walnut Street in Lock Haven. They will be bringing Logo's Salsa - Quemade, Black Bean and Corn, and Howln' Hot. And, Geneva's Gift Shop sells her handy, dandy kichen helpers and beautiful crocheted baby blankets. You just have to buy some of her net scrubbers for kitchen and bath. They're good for the car, too.

The Daniel Stoltzfus family brings a good variety of products for the table with baked goods, canned goods, blue berries, tomatoes, zuccini, peppers, beets, onions, green beans and ever-bearing strawberries. Let them know what you want and they'll bring it!

A note from Tom Hardisky:
"The Sugar Valley Onion Patch would like to thank everyone who purchased vegetables at the Farmers Market during this growing season. It was a challenging year, trying to cope with the wet weather conditions. We hope next year brings more normal weather and better quality vegetable crops.

"I will be attending the Farmers Market on October 3rd and 10th. However, October 10th will be the last Saturday I can attend. I will be bringing my remaining onions, cabbage, zucchini squash, and peppers. My autumn ornamental vegetables include field pumpkins, miniature pumpkins, small gourds, speckled swan gourds, Indian corn, and stalks of sorghum. If I have time, I hope to carve and/or paint some of my pumpkins to save you some time.

"Best wishes for a happy and healthy autumn season! Hope to see you next year."

Onion Facts:
The average American consumes 19 lbs. of onions each year.

Each ring in an onion represents one leaf on the onion plant.

The word “onion” originated from the Latin word “unis,” which means unity or purity

No sprays used. All vegetables are grown under organic conditions. Please excuse blemishes or occasional insect damage.

Heather Owens came last week with lotsa corn shocks, straw bales and pumpkins for your October decorations. She also brought some fall home grown veggies. Welcome, Heather. Bring your truck if you have one to haul the good stuff home! She'll be back.

Marsha Mantzoras sells her reknown health tonic MonaVie, one of the Highest Antioxidant fruit juice supplements you can buy.

Susan Johns brought her wild flower arrangements - anything on the table was $5 - vases included. WOW! (This picture was taken after I bought an arrangement for a family get-together. It was a great complement to a family dinner.) Valerie Wynn also brings wild flower arrangements which include those great sunflowers that bring a smile to anyone.
